The house rules.
Namai Terms of Service · last updated 30 October 2026
In short
- Namai is an app for sharing a home’s chores, groceries, bills, notes and plans.
- Namai is free for now. If paid plans ever come, you will see the price in the App Store or Google Play before you pay anything.
- Namai only keeps a record of money. It never moves money, pays bills or gives financial advice.
- What you add stays yours. What you share is seen by your household.
- Be kind, keep to your own household, and don’t try to break things.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by email.
Who we are
Namai is made and run by Amogh Prasanth Kottilaparambil, Vaivos g. 2 Kaunas, 52362 Kauno m. sav. (“we”, “us”), an individual trader in Lithuania. Questions: support@namai.page.
These terms are an agreement between you and us when you use the Namai app or this website. By creating an account, you accept them. How we handle your information is in the Privacy Policy.
What Namai is
Namai helps the people who share a home keep it running together: chores with creature companions, grocery lists, a record of bills and who owes what, notes, a shared calendar with plans, reminders and widgets. Much of it works offline and catches up when you are back online. It is for personal, household use, not for running a business.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16 to create an account.
- You sign in with a 6-digit code sent to your email (or with Apple or Google), so keep your email account safe. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
- Give a real email address you can reach. One account belongs to one person.
- Each account can be in one household at a time.
Your household: who sees what
- A household has up to 8 people, counting managed profiles.
- The owner manages the household: who is in it, their roles, who sees bills and deleting the household. Admins help set up the home and its people. Members do chores, shop, write notes and add plans.
- What you add to the household is seen by its members, except: bills and money (only people with bill access), a plan (only the people it includes), a private note (only the person who wrote it), and your private to-dos and “just me” spending (only you).
- Invite only people you live or share a home with. Add a managed profile only for someone whose name you may share with your household, for example as their parent or guardian.
- If you leave or are removed, you lose access straight away. What you added to the shared household stays there so its history still adds up.
Your content and ours
Yours stays yours. You keep the rights to what you add (names, photos, lists, notes, plans). You allow us to store it and show it to the right people in your household, only so we can run Namai for you. You are responsible for what you add, so only add what you have the right to share.
Ours stays ours. The app, the creatures, the art and the name Namai belong to us. You may use the app for your own household while these terms apply. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Namai, with no obligation to you.
Using Namai fairly
Please don’t:
- try to see or change another household’s data, or anything your role doesn’t allow;
- break, overload, copy or reverse-engineer the app, or get around its limits;
- use Namai for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
- add content that is unlawful, hateful or that you have no right to share, including other people’s photos without their permission;
- sell or rent access to Namai.
If someone seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, we may suspend or close their account. Unless the law or someone’s safety requires otherwise, we will tell them first and explain why, and they can reply to us. Found a security problem? Please tell us at support@namai.page.
Bills and money: records only
Namai helps you keep track of bills and who owes what. It never moves money, pays bills, holds money or connects to your bank. “Split a cost” is a calculator on your phone. The figures are only as good as what you and your household type in, so check them before you pay anyone. Paying each other is up to you, outside Namai. Nothing in Namai is financial, tax or legal advice.
Free for now
Namai is free to use today. We may offer paid plans or extras later. If we do:
- you will see what is paid, the price and how renewal works in the App Store or Google Play before you buy, and nothing is charged unless you confirm it there;
- payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules, and you cancel in your store’s subscription settings (deleting the app doesn’t cancel);
- we will update these terms and tell you before any of this applies to you. Your consumer rights, including any EU right to withdraw from a purchase, are not affected.
Changes to Namai
We keep improving Namai, so features may change, be added or be removed. We work hard to keep Namai running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when a service we rely on has a problem. If we ever close Namai, we will tell you in advance and give you time to download your data.
Leaving and deleting your account
- You can stop using Namai at any time.
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete my account. Or write to support@namai.page from the email address you sign in with, and we will delete it for you. The steps are also on namai.page/delete-account.
- Before you go, you can download a copy of your data in Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data.
- What happens to your data when you delete your account is explained in the Privacy Policy.
- We may close an account as described in “Using Namai fairly”, or after telling you if we close Namai.
If something goes wrong
We build Namai with care and fix problems we find. But it is a household helper, so please keep anything really important (such as a payment you must not miss, or a medical appointment) somewhere else as well. As long as Namai is free:
- We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss nobody could have foreseen, or for problems caused by things outside our reasonable control (for example a network failure, your phone, or a service we rely on).
- We are not responsible for business losses, because Namai is for household use.
- We are not responsible for what other people add to your household, or for mistakes in figures you or others type in.
Your legal rights are not affected. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of your country, or our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, harm caused on purpose or by gross negligence, or fraud.
If you got Namai from the App Store
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Namai or its content, has no duty to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for handling claims about it (for example product claims, legal requirements or intellectual property). If Namai fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries. You confirm you are not in a country under a US embargo and not on a US list of restricted parties.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when Namai changes or the law does. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Namai and delete your account. The date at the top shows the latest version.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Lithuania. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
If something isn’t right, please write to support@namai.page first; most things can be sorted out quickly. If we can’t agree, you can ask for free out-of-court help: in Lithuania, from the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority; in another EU country, from your national consumer body or the European Consumer Centre there.
