Delete some
of your data.
For the Namai app on Google Play and the App Store · 14 October 2026
You can delete parts of your data and keep your account. Here is what you can do in the app, and what each step really does. To delete everything, see Delete your account.
Removing plans, to-dos, rooms, lists, bills and spending needs an active Namai subscription in your home. If your home has none, ask us and we will do it for you (see the end of this page).
Deleted straight away
- Your profile photo: Settings → Your photo and name → Remove. The photo file is gone from our servers within minutes.
- A plan: open the plan → Delete plan. Anyone the plan includes can do this.
- A to-do: delete it on the Home tab. Only you can see and delete your to-dos.
- A note: open it on the Notes tab → More → Delete. You can delete any note you can see: your own private notes, and shared notes, which everyone at home sees. A deleted note is gone, with all its tick-box items.
- One item in a note’s tick-box list: open the note and remove that item.
- A chore tip: open the chore → Notes, and clear the tip (owner or admin).
- A chore you just ticked: tap Undo on the chore. This works for the most recent tick, for 7 days, for whoever ticked it or an owner or admin. The tick is marked as undone and its points are taken back.
- A spending goal: Remove the goal.
- Your notification token: sign out on that phone (Settings → Sign out). To keep signed in but stop reminders, switch them off in Settings → Reminders.
- A whole home (owner only): Settings → Home & people → Delete [your home’s name]. Rooms, chores, lists, plans and bills are deleted for everyone in it. Everyone keeps their account.
Removed, but kept in the home’s history
These disappear from your lists, but stay in your home’s records so totals and “who did what” still add up. They are deleted when the home is deleted, or when you ask us (below).
- Rooms and chores (owner or admin): open the room → Remove this room.
- Chore History: an older entry in a chore’s History can’t be deleted in the app. It stays in your home’s records, with who did it and when, until the home is deleted or you ask us (below).
- Grocery items and lists: remove an item, or Archive a list (owner or admin).
- A repeating grocery item: open the item and set “How often does it come back?” to Never. It then stays off the list once bought. Items already bought stay in the list’s history.
- Bills (owner or admin with bill access): Remove this bill. Payments and settle-ups are marked as cancelled.
- Spending you recorded: delete the entry.
- Prizes: whoever set the prize, or the owner, can remove it.
Leaving a home, or removing someone
- Leave a home: Settings → Home & people → Leave this home. You lose access straight away, and your photo is removed from that home. Your name stays on the chores and bills you were part of; it becomes “Former member” if you later delete your account.
- Remove someone, or a child’s profile (owner or admin): Settings → Home & people → tap the person → Remove [name] from home. The same applies to them.
Usage analytics
Switch off “Share anonymous usage with us” in Settings → Privacy & data. The app stops sending usage notes and forgets the random number it used for them. Notes sent before aren’t linked to your account, name or email, so we can’t pick out yours to delete.
Anything else: ask us
To delete something you can’t delete in the app, including items kept in the home’s history, write to support@namai.page from the email address you sign in to Namai with and tell us what to delete. We reply within one month. Some records we must keep, such as payment records for tax law.
Deleted data can stay in encrypted backups for up to 7 days before it is gone. Want a copy first? Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data.
